Welcome Back - I know, you missed me! Due to a number of reasons, the site has been mostly unavailable - until now. A new server, a reduction in distractions, and a percolating energy around self-importance brings back the site, with archived blogs from the past, and all-new content coming. I hope you enjoy the information. Remember, all web design and content is copyright material. Thanks for visiting, and please come back soon.

Site Design - Recently seen on the web are new boosts of this website graphics design, clear down to the (ahem) innovative use of unnumbered lists for the navigation menus. Two sites I found actually had some original metadata remaining - including my name! It's an honor to have people copy the look, but I'd be happy to share the actual design (written in classic ASP). Either way, send me an email with a URL - it would be interesting to keep a list.

Questions that keep me up at night

Clean Spot
You've surely noticed - you clean a spot on the floor, and shortly afterwards something plops right in the middle of it, necessitating another clean up for the next plop. I've always considered the relationship between a new mess being caused by cleaning something up off the floor. Why not? As soon as I clean it, it gets dirty again.
Aha, he says! It's actually a probability issue, and has nothing to do with cleaning at all. This finally came to me in the middle of the night when I awoke to the dog trying to use my head as a pillow. It just so happens that the spot just cleaned got dirty because it's in a location of activity that has a higher exposure to potential drops and plops. Extrapolating that further means that if I don't clean the dirty spot on the floor, it will have as high a probability of getting soiled again as it had if it were cleaned.
So where does all this plopping, dropping and cleaning lead me? Simple. There's no longer an excuse to NOT clean the floor. Damn!
